Baran Movie Review

'Baran' means 'Barish' in urdu & 'Rain' in English. When it rains on earth it becomes soft and plants, trees and fruits come out. fruits and plants come & when it rains on heart it becomes soft and love comes out it.

It beautifully portrays the fact the every girl is hiding herself beneath a thousand layers. And what happens if the right person finds out the truth.

As the story unfolds you are taken in a journey which sours deeper and deeper within your own soul. Takes you past your desires and lets you taste the pain & pleasures the unspoken love. It's and Irani Gem. A must see. Be sure to watch it English dub though or with subtitles at least. While you watch real characters stumble through the screen doing what life is all about and suddenly we find yourself rooting for a spark. A brillaint spark goes on to show how True Love really works. Without any touch and word. It shows that True Love cares. Even when you are far far away and you don't belong anymore, but you never stop caring. And those who find that special spot in heart are lucky.

Because it is the strongest yet rarest kind of love out there.

Beyond imagination it's reality and the Oscar Nominated 'Children of Heaven' director Majid Majidi is known to capture reality as a mother holds her child. Truly fascinating.

The main lead playing Rahmat, you will look at her and wonder if she is  even acting? Really the young girl playing the main lead is not even actress as per wiki. Baran is her only work you'll ever see. And so is Lateef they boy so desperately in love. The 94 minutes movie will help you decode things you always knew but never understood. A Strangers Love.
So Real! So Heartwarming!

Media Has Power But No Responsbility

As a saying goes with great power comes great responsibility. It is a distinguished fact that Media has a power over people. People tend to listen to it and build their decisions based on the trust that they have generously put on it. If the media chooses to neglect a story and overlaps it with another story people as mass will choose to neglect it also. Media chooses to stop reporting on the middle east terrorism events that occur on daily basis and People who watch, read or listen it will never know that it exist. If we are suddenly bombarded by negative news day after another people will get affected with negative emotions like withdrawal, social unease & depression etc. Every action has a reaction and in this world controlled by carefully selected news reports the priorities for masses are shifting and social acceptability on issues like gay marriages, Islamophobic changes as per the role of media of how it chooses to portray on these selected matters.

These may be controversial topics but an argument suggest that these topics were made controversial by the very same media. Gay marriages by large is till unacceptable in masses but masses are not free to show their dislike toward the issue, since everywhere in media it is highlighted in a positive way and I am not saying thats bad all I am trying to say here is that, today the gayism is a socially acceptable behaviour and you can not freely show your dislike if you feel otherwise because of the peer pressure. This one example defines how Media defines behaviors. I mean the African American People had to fight for equality for a long time and they have just recently given that right. On the Other hand the gays rights were just delivered by the media on the silver platter. All of us simply accepted the ideology of freely expressing ourselves sexually without any difficulty.

Now moving on toward the how important it is to take this responsibility seriously. We believe that the Media has a greatest power of all thus it has to act according to it. If you use that freedom of speech like a teenage delinquent on a street with graffiti, then the very same freedom of speech can be endanger our lives. How? See there is a huge issue which arises every now & then and that is Islamic Cartoons. We all know how Muslims are regarding their favourite prophet so why are we deliberately igniting them to start the third world war.

Yes Media is free to use its power of freely speaking on any matter in any light but behaving in a certain manner consequently without affirming the reactions or one-sided reactions is a fool's way and one sure way to get yourself and us all burned. And we don't want that, don't spoil our hard earned peace.

Media should act in manner which would bring us all together rather than distributing on different criteria and labeling each with names. Because either the Media outlets tell us or not but, out of 100 people from the world only 3 wants to fight and kill, rest of us all want peace no matter what ethnicity, religion, country or age.

I say the first and foremost responsibility the Media has is bring us together and remind us that we are all humans. And it can do that, it can certainly change our perception and ultimately our behaviours as well.
